Dr. Williams is an associate medical director for Talbot Hospice in Easton, Maryland. She is Board-certified in adult/gerontology primary care, oncology, medical/surgical, pain management and general practice. Her entire career has been in oncology, palliative care and hospice. She is on the Board of Directors for the Maryland Academy of Advanced Practice Clinicians and past president of the Upper Eastern Shore Oncology Nursing Society. She is a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for the Mid-Shore. Her focus and passion are for raising a better understanding of the role of palliative care among both the public and professionals across the continuum of care to ensure high-quality care for individuals facing serious or life-threatening illnesses.
Dr. Williams was instrumental in the development of the Palliative Care Program at the University of Maryland Shore Regional Medical Center in Easton, Maryland. She implemented a new lung cancer screening program for the University of Maryland Shore Regional Medical Center for the five-county, three-hospital system.
She received the 2017 Martin D. Abeloff Award for Excellence in Public Health and Cancer Control from the Maryland Department of Health Center for Cancer Prevention and Control for her contributions to cancer control and public health through patient care and public health policy advocacy, Outstanding Service Award and the Hometown Hero Award for Medical Professional from the American Cancer Society, and Commitment to Caring Award and Outstanding Achievement in Care Delivery from the University of Maryland Shore Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Williams received a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota; a post-master’s degree in adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner from Wilmington University in New Castle, Delaware; a master’s degree in nursing education from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix Arizona; a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Stevenson University in Stevenson, Maryland; and a diploma in nursing from Mcqueen Gibbs Willis School of Nursing in Easton, Maryland.
